A Word About Commissioning a Guitar from Jerry

Your order is the beginning of a relationship between you and the builder. If you wish, you will be involved in the decision making process of building your instrument. It is more important for you to find the guitar that meets your wants and needs than it is for me to sell lots of options; therefore I will help you choose wisely regarding value.

I will help you learn about woods and materials. We can use your playing style, physical characteristics, playing venues, and personal preferences as benchmarks to discuss the elements of tone, playability, intonation, aesthetics, and volume.

Welcome To JDS Guitars!

Each JDS guitar receives an extraordinary amount of attention due to the fact each and every guitar is "hand-made". We're not talking about "hand-assembled".  Each JDS guitar is meticously crafted from the finest tonewoods.  Every guitar top is tuned by hand to attain maximum resonance and sustain, ensuring a high level of consistency of sound within each instrument. The balance, tone, and volume of earch JDS guitar is created before the guitar is strung. Because we are a small shop,  born from a genuine love of the guitar, we craft fine instruments that not only are a pleasure to play, but are appealing to the eye.

JDS Guitars uses GHS Signature Phosphor Bronze on each guitar built.

What others say...

Hey Jerry,
I just finished two days of recording basic tracks on a project with Mick Byrd in Columbia. It's mostly acoustic "roots" music, so I was very particular (as he was) about the acoustic I chose. I took several of my guitars and ended up using only the JDS for everything. It sounds so good in the studio and performed better than the Martin or my Carvin. Just thought you would want to know...
Stay warm!
                    Brad  Camdenton Mo.

I have been playing for 20 years and have owned  some beautiful guitars. I have owned Avalon, Martin and Guild guitars and this guitar is the equal to all and better than some.

Bob Smith - Kansas City, Mo

I was torn between buying a high-end Martin or commissioning a custom guitar.   I chose to have Jerry build me a top-of-the-line dreadnought.  I have never been sorry! This guitar cuts through a jam session with the best of them.  I call it my banjo killer!

Kevin - Mt.Home, AR
